Our establishment
Hotel Airone overlooks the gulf of Portoferraio with its marvellous views of the Medici Fortress and it is nestled in the relaxing atmosphere of a luxuriant park-garden which extends all the way down to the sea.
Located just 3 km far from the centre of Portoferraio, the hotel’s strategic position allows you to reach the most beautiful beaches and main points of interest that the island of Elba has to offer.
The hotel has 85 rooms overlooking the park, with a garden if your room is on the ground floor and a balcony if it’s on the first floor.

The key word that best describes our concept of hospitality is “family”.
In fact, the hotel is run by the Bolano family, who built it in the 1980s and have been managing it directly since 2013, treating it like their own home.

Our history
The history of our hotel is closely connected to the one of the Bolano family who built it in the 1980s and who have managed it directly since 2013.
We like to stress this because the hotel tradition and the so-to-speak family style of the Airone are the added value that our guests will be able to enjoy during their stay. In an era when so many types of accommodation are owned by large companies and suffer from a sort of “depersonalisation” in terms of services and atmosphere, our hotel instead has the privilege of being managed by people who have a close relationship with the local area and its residents, who are there in the hotel with their guests and like to make themselves known.
Built in 1984 by Angelo Bolano, together with his sons Elvio and Mario, the Airone has always had an innate vocation for the “beautiful and healthy” and ever since it first went into business it has proved to be a perfect hotel for welcoming couples, families with children and groups looking for relaxation and good living.
For ten years our Manager, or “Directora” as we like to call her, has been Angela Bolano under whose management the standard of hospitality has risen even higher, through paying special attention to the hotel guests and revamping the range of services and activities.
