The cuisine of our hotel, always respectful of traditional ingredients and flavours, but also open to a hint of innovation, is unfailingly light and authentic. A strong link binds the Bolano family, the hotel owners, to the great chef Alvaro Claudi, one of the knowledgeable founders of Slow Food, teacher, author ((Zuppe e stornelli, Rime in pentola, A tavola con L’Imperatore [Soups and folk songs, Rhymes in a pot, Eating with the Emperor]), who has been inspiring the food and wine consumed on the island for over forty years and whose invaluable research has led to the rescuing of the oldest and most secret recipes of Elba. It is no coincidence that every year the hotel hosts courses organised by the Italian Sommelier Association and some cookery shows that give young chefs the opportunity to unleash their creativity.

Sport events

The sporty character of the Hotel Airone has consolidated over time. Athletes and the organisational staff of national and international events appreciate us for our strategic position – we are just a few minutes from the capital of the island – the large outdoor spaces, the large covered car park, the secure storage for motorbikes and bicycles, the shuttle minibus, special and flexible catering, the conference room equipped for briefings, presentations, press conferences and award ceremonies. A “tailor-made” headquarters for bikers, motorcyclists, rally drivers, vintage car enthusiasts, runners, scuba divers and tennis players. A welcoming and discreet microcosm where it’s nice to meet year after year, for a morning jog or an evening drink by the pool.

Cultural events

Our elegant and stylish hotel has always been the glittering stage for some of the most important cultural events that light up the summer in Elba. One of these stands out: the final act of the Raffaello Brignetti International Literary Award, a prestigious review that has brought world-famous storytellers, poets and essayists to the island for over half a century. But the Hotel Airone doesn’t sparkle only in summer: thanks to its spacious and versatile meeting room and impeccable organisation, the hotel hosts conferences, seminars, courses, workshops, screenings, concerts and other types of event linked to the more diverse dimension of culture, while simultaneously offering a valuable contribution to the social life of the area and to off-season adjustment.

There is plenty of space here at the Hotel Airone. In addition to the sea, we have the good fortune to overlook a lush green park, a large green lawn where an elegant multifunctional marquee takes precedence, to have a conference room from which you can enjoy an incomparable view of Portoferraio, a delightful private beach and a pier equipped for the needs of sailing enthusiasts. In short, ours is a spectacular and eclectic location, ideal for hosting trade fairs, events, gatherings, pop-up shops and any other type of corporate exhibition. This is why we have already been the location of choice for major Italian companies such as Poltronesofà, which presents its collection here every year, and Castellani Rappresentanze which exhibits the best Italian food experience brands at our hotel.
