NATURE &
SUSTAINABILITY
Eco Friendly Hotel on the Island of Elba
Not only does the lagoon that borders our hotel enjoy an enchanting panorama of Portoferraio, but it is also an area of great natural beauty. Silt, algae and marine plants are extracted from the body of water that communicates with the sea., These are fundamental ingredients of thalassotherapy, making them a precious resource for the thermal treatments in the nearby Terme, or Thermal Baths, on the Island of Elba.
Close encounters in the mini Camargue on Elba
This typically Mediterranean marshy habitat, which is so reminiscent of the coastal ponds in the Camargue, constitutes a particular marine biocenosis rich in fish, crustaceans, molluscs and around thirty species of avifauna, both resident and migratory. A varied ecosystem and an open-air biology laboratory offers close encounters with grey herons, egrets, flamingos and many other winged friends, providing the youngest visitors, in particular, with the right tools for learning about biodiversity.
Plastic free
Our hotel promotes conscious, eco-sustainable consumption, avoiding waste and employing an approach that is as plastic-free and eco-friendly as possible. Disposable products– such as plates, glasses and straws – are made of PLA (polylactic acid) which is fully recyclable and biodegradable.
If, for your next holidays, you’re looking for a hotel on the Island of Elba that cares about the planet, you’re in the right place!
Charging column for electric cars
The Hotel Airone has always been very aware of the need to respect the environment and to use sustainable energy. In addition to having almost completely eliminated the use of plastic inside the hotel, for years we have had a photovoltaic system that allows us to reduce the energy impact of our establishment as well as a smart home system to avoid wasting energy even in the rooms.
Last but not least it was with great satisfaction that we installed an ENEL X charging column for electric cars for the benefit of both hotel guests and other users.
Because the healthful Island of Elba is increasingly welcoming and respectful of the nature that surrounds us.
